ABOUT POSS ANGUS

Poss Angus is a family owned operation managed similar to other commercial operations in central Nebraska. Poss Angus is located 3 miles south east of Scotia on the east side of the North Loup River Valley. Our Annual Bull and Female Sale is held the first Friday in February at the farm near Scotia, Nebraska, marketing 200-225 bulls and females. Large sire groups of progeny by the breed's leading A.I. sires are featured and sell with the "Poss Angus Guarantee!"

Our operation consists of pasture, irrigated corn, alfalfa, soybeans and native hay meadows. Cows graze corn stalks in fall and winter, they are moved to calving pastures in February and March. Cows and heifers are AI'd the end of April and early May then taken to summer grass three miles east of ranch headquarters.

Our Mission:

  • To produce superior Angus genetics based on economically important traits to insure more profitability for our customers.
  • To produce fault free cattle with moderate birth weights, excellent performance and grid values; while, paying strong attention to maternal traits, udder quality, fertility, fleshing ability, and disposition.
  • Always raise the highest quality genetics from proven sires for the commercial cattleman and back them up with a great guarantee.
  • Develop cattle on a high roughage ration with plenty of exercise to insure genetic predictability, longevity, and customer satisfaction.
